Warriors Eye BD Cricket Live Summer Boost

After their loss to the Pelicans, the Golden State Warriors have effectively waved the white flag on this season. According to BD Cricket Live sources, Steve Kerr has announced that starters will rest in the next game, signaling that the team is prioritizing long-term plans over chasing a late-season playoff push. While the Warriors technically still have a shot at climbing to the 8th seed in the Western Conference, management appears ready to focus on the offseason.

There’s little incentive to fight hard for a marginal change in play-in positioning. Even if they win their final game, it’s unlikely to move them out of 9th or 10th place. Ironically, the Warriors have had a better win rate on the road this season, making home court less of a factor.

This year’s regular season has been one of instability. Franchise icons like Curry, Thompson, Wiggins, and Looney have all shown signs of decline. Draymond Green missed significant time due to suspensions, and new additions such as Kuminga, Moody, and Chris Paul have struggled to fit within Steve Kerr’s established system. Kerr seems to favor high-IQ players who adapt to his structure rather than reshaping the system to fit raw talent.

With the contracts of Klay Thompson and Chris Paul expiring this summer, the Warriors will enter free agency with around $20 million in cap flexibility—assuming they don’t make major cuts. If ownership is willing to go deep into the luxury tax, Paul’s expiring contract and up to four future first-round picks could be used to swing a significant trade.

Sources from BD Cricket Live suggest that Thompson is likely to stay. A potential two-year mid-level deal for Thompson would still leave the team with over $10 million to pursue new talent. Golden State’s primary needs remain a floor-spacing big man and a switch-heavy defensive center. Their top targets are reportedly Obi Toppin and Malik Monk.

Toppin, a power forward with strong build and explosive athleticism, is known for his highlight dunks and efficiency in one-on-one scoring. He can both shoot from mid-range and stretch the floor with his three-point shot—making him an ideal modern big man.

Monk is a dynamic combo guard with elite slashing ability, explosive finishing, and smooth outside shooting. He’s capable of playing both guard spots and brings intensity on the defensive end, particularly on-ball.

If the Warriors manage to land both Toppin and Monk this summer, BD Cricket Live analysts believe the team could stage a serious comeback and reclaim contender status in the 2025 season.
